Little Foragers: Farm and Flower Summer Camp

Camp 2025

A week of wonder, wildflowers, and hands-on discovery for kids ages 6–11

This summer, let your child step into a world where nature, farming, and art come alive. Honalee Forest and Seed to Stem Floral are teaming up to host a one-of-a-kind, hands-on summer camp that blends the beauty of the outdoors with creative expression and farm-fresh adventure.

Set in the magical backdrop of Honalee Forest, campers will explore the natural world through play, storytelling, gardening, art-making, and animal care. Every day brings new opportunities to dig into the soil, splash in the creek, and craft beauty from the world around them.

FAQ

Who are you?

I'm Karen, the creator and owner of Farm to Flower Kids Camp, Honalee Forest, and Seed to Stem Florals. I’m a lifelong grower, floral artist, photographer, and mother of four, with a deep love for nature, creativity, and childhood magic. I studied photography at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and horticulture at Clackamas Community College, and I’ve been teaching art to kids for over 10 years. I have 4 kiddos of my own who will weave in and out of camp throughout the week.

I’ve spent my life growing things—flowers, food, art, and most of all, community. This camp is a heartfelt blend of all those passions.

Each week, I’ll be working closely with a trusted employee to lead and guide our small group of campers (no more than 10 per week), making sure every child feels safe, seen, and inspired. We’re here to create something truly special—rooted in soil, sprinkled with creativity, and full of joy.

What activities will my kiddo be doing all week?

Great question! Our activities include, but are not limited to…

  • Nature weaving

  • Flower arranging

  • Homemade watercolors

  • Chicken care (maybe even baby chicks!)

  • Flower farming lessons – growing, harvesting & arranging

  • Age appropriate daily farm chores & hands-on gardening

  • Water & forest free play

  • Farm-fresh snacks & classic outdoor fun

  • Painting large format structures, coops or fabrics.

What do my kiddos need to bring?

To ensure your child has a comfortable, safe, and enriching experience at Farm & Flower Camp, please pack the following essentials:

  • Backpack – Sturdy and comfortable for your child to carry all day.

  • Lunch & Hearty Snack – Nutritious and filling.

  • Refillable Water Bottle – Labeled with your child’s name.

  • Closed-Toe Shoes – No sandals, please! Trails and garden paths can be muddy and uneven

  • Comfortable, Breathable Layers – Mornings are often cool; afternoons warm up.

  • Extra Set of Clothes – Accidents and messy play are part of the fun and kids may need a change.

  • Raincoat & Boots – If the forecast calls for wet weather.

  • Sun Hat – Optional, but encouraged on sunny days.

  • Work Gloves – Optional, for kids who want to get hands-on with soil and chores. In my experience, most kids don’t like to we are gloves, but I have seen the kiddo or two pass through the farm that have an aversion to soil and messes.

  • Water Shoes – For water play and creek exploration.

  • Sunscreen & Insect Repellent – Please apply before arrival and send extras if needed. We'll spend a good portion of the day beneath the forest canopy but it’s always good to be protected. We have some on site if needed.

Please expect clothes and gear to come home with a little extra “farm charm” — soil, petals, and happy memories.** We embrace the mess as part of the magic!

How many kids in each group?

We cap at 10 kiddos per week.

Can I stay?

We completely understand the desire to stay close, especially during new experiences—but Farm & Flower Camp is a drop-off camp designed to help children build confidence, independence, and a deep connection with nature and each other.

We are experienced in creating a warm, welcoming environment where kids feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore and grow.

We’ll take good care of your kiddos and would love to welcome lingering at pickup on our last day to view all the things your child did during the week.

Where is camp located?

We are located in Damascus. It’s easy to get to from all directions. A few weeks before camp, we will send a detailed email with clear directions, as well as signage upon arrival for ease.

What information do you need about my child?

After registration, we will email you a form to fill out with specific questions we have about your kiddo. This includes spaces to give medical information and insurance cards if needed.
